Governor Samuel Ole Tunai has signed an agreement with the national government to scale up provision of Universal Health Care (UHC) in Narok county.
The Intergovernmental Participation Agreement (IPA) will provide the county with Ksh. 78 million worth of new medical equipment for the various health facilities, employment of more health workers and interns, and purchase of drugs and other medical supplies.
The Governor signed the agreement yesterday with Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Health, Sicily Kariuki, alongside four other governors.
Governor Tunai thanked the national government under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta for the new measures to implement UHC in the country and committed to continue upgrading of infrastructure and health facilities across all the sub-counties in Narok to ensure accessibility of affordable, quality health care services to all, especially in the hard to reach places of this vast county.
