Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau alias Kawaya has publicly joined the anti-BBI brigade by dismissing the report as a scam and a useless report.

Speaking at the annual Mwala University and College Students meeting, the MP said that the BBI report does not in any way address issues regarding the challenges facing the youth.

“I have not seen the BBI advocating for an increase bursaries for students. Many graduates still lack jobs after graduation. The BBI is only creating opportunities for the big boys” said Hon. Kawaya.

The vocal MP slammed President Uhuru and Raila Odinga’s BBI initiative, citing that its intention is to ‘create positions for senior boys whose stomachs are already full.’

“We must all reject this thing called BBI for the sake of this country. All we are saying is that this useless thing does not add any value. When it comes, we must say NO so that we shame the devil.” said Hon. Kawaya.

The legislator, who is a close ally of Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua urged University students to take up their rightful positions as the movers and shapers of opinion on key issues in the country.

Kawaya refuted claims that the BBI would help curb the pattern of election violence in the country, saying that the report had terribly failed on the issue of inclusivity.

“You do not need new laws to know that the boards you are creating must have different communities represented. Why do we have parastatals like KPA, KPLC, REA and several others dominated by one community?” said the Maendeleo Chap Chap party MP.

Kawaya is among the youthful and vocal Kamba politicians.

There are speculations that the youthful MP could contest for the Machakos gubernatorial seat in 2022.
