Thousands of Kenyans have successfully launched their medical careers at KMTC, thereby improving the health of communities they live in.
Being the biggest human resource contribution to the health sector in Kenya; KMTC contributes more than 80 percent of the hospitals’ workforce in the country.
It’s therefore a big win for the Meru County administration that has for the last few months pushed for the establishment of another KMTC campus in the county.
Speaking during the official opening of the campus, Meru County Executive for Health Misheck Mutuma said that the college has already admitted students.
Mr. Mutuma cited this as a big milestone towards achieving the dream and vision of bringing the institution closer to the people of Meru, specifically South Imenti.
KMTC has 67 other campuses spread across the country, mainly located within or next to the County Referral hospitals.
Other counties with the privilege of hosting more than one KMTC college include Siaya, Nyeri, Nakuru and Makueni.
